CIRCUITS

The club conducts competition at McNamara Park in the Lower South East of the State and at Mallala Motorsport Park in the Mid North of South Australia.

McNamara Park, situated 450km South East of Adelaide, near Mt Gambier and the Victorian border, is owned by the Mt Gambier Motorcycle and Light Car Club. This is the only road racing circuit in Australia, and believed to be the only one in the world, which is completely owned by a motorcycle club. Some of the longer standing members of the Mt Gambier club are able to regale us with stories of how they went about building the circuit using an Army surplus tank after the land was donated to them by Frank McNamara. Suffice to say it is an interesting circuit with a bit of up and down. The circuit always seems to bring out some close, competitive racing.

Mallala Motorsport Park, situated at Mallala, about 80km North of Adelaide, is the venue for the South Australian round of the Australian Superbike Championships and two of the three rounds of the South Australian Road Race Championships. The circuit has been built on a WWII training airfield. The club house, generally used for post race presentations, is the original officer's mess.
