Mallala - 27th November 2005 Round 4 of the Reece Bancell Trophy series at Mallala presented us with another day of top class racing. Dave Bancell made the trip down from Sydney to witness first hand the passion of the competitors and was not disappointed. Dave 85
Entries. 2 full divisions of Brackets. Top class racing action all day
and a 4 x 3 lap sprint race. What a great way to close off the series
and the season. Chris Leisavnieks was the deserving winner of the series
after a hard fought campaign. The perpetual trophy was presented to him
by Dave Bancell who travelled over from Sydney for the event. It was
pleasing for us to be able to turn on a high quality meeting with large
fields for him to witness. Series runner up was Andy Denman with Anthony
“Fred” Nicholl in third place. For their effort, Chris receives a
paid entry into the Mallala ASC round and the club’s SA Championship
round. Andy and Fred each receive a paid entry into the club’s SA
Championship round. On
the day it was James Van Rooyen who showed them the way, winning the C
grade in his only appearance for the season as he had been concentrating
on the ASC. Second in C grade was Paul Radford and third Chris
Leisavnieks. D grade points went to Andy Denman from Aaron “Chocky”
Denys and new comer Daniel Mutton. The
sprint races saw Brendan Roberts win on a count back from David Johnson
after the four tight races. Brendan carried off a $200 voucher to spend
at MaxiMoto for his effort and DJ a $100 voucher. Dennis Charlett took
third and a $50 MaxiMoto voucher from a 600 mounted Michael Brenton. The field of the Historic events looked more like a 1980 250cc Production race as the Yamaha LC 250’s lined up for the start. Hal Hutchesson was king of the kids with a perfect score. Jamie Smith was happy enough with an overall second place in his first race meeting. Ned, Ken Hurley (ned@kern.com.au), captured the action for us. To order any of the pictures, right click on the link and view "Properties" to get their reference.
