| RT MOTORSPORTS AND YAMAHA NETHERLANDS PARTNERS IN 2007! |
| RT Motorsports are glad to announce the support of Yamaha Netherlands in 2007. The RT Motorsports team, raised and based in Rossum (Netherlands), enters the second season as a professional team, again with Aussie David Johnson piloting the fast Yamaha R1. In 2006, the RT Motorports team proved to be one of the most professional teams in the paddock. Last year, RT Motorsports entered the season as a newborn team, starting from the “underdog” position, but quickly progressed in the races and the championship. David Johnson brought to the team a successful season with several podium finishes and a fantastic victory in the last race. This and the reliability of the Yamaha R1 made David Johnson end the championship in a deserving second place. The result put the team in the spotlight and several possibilities were offered for the new season. Finally RT Motorsports choose for the partnership with Yamaha Netherlands in 2007. In 2007, RT Motorsports will race in the Dutch Superbike championship, and also the highly competitive IDM European Superbike Championship. Team manager Rob Vennegoor: “RT Motorsports was in the last season a remarkable team, in both positive and sport loving way. You can not do this alone. This comes with the enthusiasm from the team members and of course, the sponsors. Together we achieved this superb result.” “I am very happy with the deal Yamaha Nederland has offered us and the trust they gave to our team and of course to our rider David Johnson. Together with Yamaha, David Johnson, the whole team and the sponsors, I am convinced that we will have a splendid season.” David Johnson: “The last season was a big test for me, I didn’t know the championship and I had only done one race with RT in 2005, also the circuits where new for me. RT Motorsports offered me a great deal in 2006 and I did the best I could. The whole team was fantastic to me all year and the treated me like family, which meant a lot to me. Last week I heard from Rob Vennegoor the great news that Yamaha Nederland will support us this season which is awesome! From my side, I want to thank everybody in Yamaha Nederland for their support and trust they have in me and the team. I will try everything possible to bring the 2007 ONK Superbike title to RT and Yamaha. Right now I am still in Adelaide, Australia training hard for my return to Europe in 2 weeks. RT already have our two 2007 R1’s and they are preparing them for our intense testing program which starts very soon. I can’t wait to get started!!! |
