In his first full season in the Championship class the MTM-RT Motorsports star rider produced a season to remember, claiming fourth in the final race of the season to wrap up the title with a 12-point buffer.
It has been a whirlwind 12 months for the Victorian, making his headlines in last year’s European Superstock 600 Championship final round at Magny-Cours, where the 21-year-old claimed an amazing race win as a Wildcard.
This performance had a host of teams clamouring for his signature, eventually signing for the Dutch-Belgian team of MTM-RT Motorsports.
Joined by fellow Victorian Adrian Nestorovic, Metcher settled into his new surrounds with a season-opening podium at Assen before further podiums at Misano, Silverstone, Nurburgring, Imola and Magny-Cours, and an amazing race win at Aragon.
The 150-point season tally, ensured Metcher held off the fast finishing American Josh Day and the red-hot Dutchman Michael vd Mark, who won three of the last four races of the season.
Nestorovic finished his final race of the season in 13th position, while Aussie Wildcard Matthew Walters claimed 23rd on board his Kawasaki Motorcard.com machine.

A quartet of Australians will be eager to give the final round of the World Superbike Championship a distinctly Aussie flavour in Portugal.
With the announcement late last month Waters would get his third ride of the season for Yoshimura Suzuki, three riders became four as 2004 World Supersport Champion Karl Muggeridge was called into action after injury to Honda rider Ruben Xaus.
It has been a difficult season for the Aussie riders on the premier Superbike stage, with injuries curtailing the impact of Chris Vermeulen and Corser, while more recently serious crashes have taken their toll on Aitchison.
While the season has been a struggle for our Superbike stars, the 2011 World Supersport Championship has witnessed another consistent season from Broc Parkes.
The Motorcard.com Kawasaki rider currently sits third in the Championship standings and will be eager to maintain his hold on the season-ending podium position with a strong performance in Portugal.
